MHTD Mission Statement

MHTD (Mental Health TouchDown) Pilot Program

At MHTD, we envision a world where individuals of all ages have the tools, confidence, and support systems they need to navigate life’s challenges. By fostering emotional resilience, empowering personal growth, and promoting mental wellness, we seek to create lasting, positive change in communities across the country.

Through our interactive and engaging curriculum, participants build their own “Home Team”—a trusted network of family, friends, mentors, and community members—who provide encouragement, guidance, and strength throughout life’s ups and downs.

MHTD helps teens and their parents or guardians build strong, resilient families.
Drawing on Dr. Tim Thayne’s decades of work with families—and insights from his books Not by Chance and Taking the Reins—we teach practical skills for better family life.

  • Parenting Principles: Agree on rules and responses, set clear expectations, and let teens make choices and own the outcomes.
  • Keep your cool: Notice your reactions and stay calm so discussions don’t turn into fights.
  • Build a “home team”: Bring trusted coaches, teachers and relatives into your support circle.
  • Talk solutions: Focus on what everyone can do differently to move forward.
  • Balance freedom and limits: Offer autonomy while keeping healthy boundaries.
  • Nurture the bond: Spend positive time together, listen and celebrate progress.

Our Trustyy app turns these ideas into action with short lessons, reminders and trust‑tracking tools. Families use it to stick to agreements, measure progress and stay accountable. Live group sessions and optional one‑on‑one coaching give adults the support and self‑care they need while teens earn new privileges.

Our approach is age-inclusive and adaptable, ensuring that youth, teens, and adults alike benefit from programming that meets them where they are. Whether helping a child recognize emotions, guiding a teen through peer pressure, or equipping adults with tools to support youth, MHTD is committed to fostering a culture of understanding, empowerment, and proactive mental health support.

By normalizing conversations about mental health, breaking down stigma, and strengthening personal support networks, we can empower individuals to thrive—on and off the field of life.

Together, we are building a stronger, more resilient future—one Home Team at a time.

NFL Team Collaborations

NFL teams have a powerful opportunity to lead on a critical issue: the mental health of athletes and their families. Together, we could establish a strategic partnership that includes:

  • Family-Based Support: Trustyy’s app delivers ongoing coaching, trust assessments, and solution-focused tools to help families stay strong between events.
  • Workshops & Groups: Interactive training for spouses, parents, and teens on communication, trust, and emotional management.
  • Alumni Integration: Specific focus on challenges like transition from playing, parenting teens, and relationship strain after football.

Our Founder

Erik Kramer

Erik Kramer knows firsthand the pressures and demands of professional sports. As a former NFL quarterback, Erik understands that success is about more than talent—it’s about having the mental strength to face adversity and the support needed to thrive. Through his personal experiences, he has made it his mission to give back to the next generation of athletes by focusing not only on their performance but on their mental well-being.

Get Involved

We invite you to join us in making a difference. Whether you’re a potential donor, sponsor, or supporter, your involvement can help us expand our reach and impact more young athletes across the country. Together, we can shape the future of football by empowering the next generation with the skills, tools, and support they need to succeed in every aspect of their lives.

Support. Empower. Transform. That’s the Erik Kramer Passing Camp Foundation.
